HONG KONG: the DUSK

It was really cold when we reached there, I had to impulse bought a coat. It was still so much better than being in HK when it's 35 degrees like when we went there for mini collection. Coldness can be stopped by wearing more clothes but no the sun is unstoppable.

Weather-talk aside, the beginning of our shopping started with me bringing my sketchbook everywhere I went and cutting bits and pieces of fabric that caught my eye. Really, I only took the ones that I went "I NEED THAT IN MY COLLECTION" the moment I saw the fabrics. I want that vibe in my collection, I want them to see it and said "I wanna wear that to club next week."

Of course I had this shopping list that I had to hit before deciding on which fabric is usable for which design. The first thing I bought was a sequin printed fabric that is merely purple black and turquoise, it was recommended by my lecturer and there was only 1 half yard left ! Just adequate for a dress and a small mini top.

So this fabric is the base of the colour scheme of my collection, everything has to match with it. Such a good buy !!

The last thing I did for the night was to chill at starbucks with some of the students from the other class. We each took 2 tables to spread out our fabric samples. In two hours, I managed to figure out which fabric for which and the things that I was lacking of for tomorrow's hunt. What's up on the next page would not be amazing, but it's part of the struggles of fabric buying and such an impeccable experience as an upcoming fashion designer.
