TR CUTTING

Shingo Sato

Dart Manipulation

The techniques from Shingo Sato requires us to get the base first. The key is to cut through the apex points of the body when creating the style lines.

The video above shows the exact process how to create this masterpiece.

Origami

DID YOU EVEN SEE HOW LONGGGGG WAS MY PATTERN PIECE?! HAHA

I spread the pieces open by only 6cm yet it extended to be super long.

The hole is purposedly there to show underboobs, sexy is power.

Gathers

We learned gathers before so it's practically nothing new.

The photo on the right is the hem piece of my bodice, I spread 6cm to create volume on the side.

Once again, the key is to cut through the apex.

These are my leftover fabric from my mini collection in diploma.

BOX

Honestly, I tried this technique twice before I finally got it right.

The first time, I didnt cut through the corners of the box hence the box could not lay flat.

Then I realized, why not just create the corner as part of the style line, AND IT WORKED!!

This is sooo awesome, I finally got to know how to create a 3D form out of fabric.

For the final piece, I have a rough sketch of what I planned to make on the above on the left.

And as my style is quirky edgy sexy yet sporty, I used jersey fabric for my final piece (which was a wrong choice to use for Box manipulation).

But well regardless of that..... Yes this was fun! Learning new things and being able to apply it in your own style.
