Experimentations

textures.
HEYHEY, this project was my first project in degree and OBVIOUSLY as it was the first week, I was so driven to be the very best. :D
I took inspiration from Roy Lichenstein for this pop art shirt (I bought the fabric for $12.50 at Spotlight).
Above are the experimentations I did with a plain white shirt before deciding on which to develop into the costume.

Honestly design of the shirt kept changing as I was developing it. I tried to be a fun designer designing fun things for fun people!
The hardest decision was where to put the pop art element into the shirt, however, there was just this one happenstance when my principal came in and gave me the idea of putting a stuffed hand on my garment. AND IT LOOKED FABULOUS! Don't you think?
As I continue the journey of creating this costume, I found a normal zipper just chillin' in my sewing box. That was when the idea of making the shirt into a jacket came into the picture.
I was thrilled with the end results. This jacket was chosen to be worn by the dance performer in the Hospice and I am proud of myself.
